“Tide Pool I and Tide Pool II are imaginary seascapes that were created by drawing barnacles, kelp and mussels together with the textures of lichens, grasses and mosses from above the tide lines. I began with washes of ink to create the backdrop of an underwater seascape. Using fine tipped pens and colored pencils I focused in on the details to create a vibrant imaginary world.

“I find myself returning to night time imagery with a particular interest in how one’s eyes adjust to the lack of sunlight. I love the shadows cast by moonlight and was interested in how that might appear to a small sea creature sequestered within a tide pool.”
