ARTS Southeast is excited to announce the Incubator Artist Initiative, which will provide a local artist with a free studio at ARTS Southeast for one year in 2026. We're now accepting proposals for this unique opportunity, aimed at supporting Savannah-based emerging artists.

  • Free Studio Space: A year-long residency in a 12 x 12ft studio equipped with gallery lighting and tile flooring. Located on the first floor of ARTS Southeast right off of our shop and directly next door to the ON::View Residency Studio, this a prime spot for foot traffic during business hours and First Friday Open Studio events. The Incubator Artist will have 24/7 access to the studio, including access to sinks and  wifi.

  • Exhibition Opportunities: Participation in 3 group exhibitions in our Supporter Gallery in 2026 

  • Professional Development & Community Engagement: Opportunities for professional development, complimentary memberships to ARTS Southeast’s Supporter Program, SCAD MOA & Telfair Museums, and interactions with local artists and curators.

  • Mentorship: Guidance in professional practices from our experienced exhibition team and the visiting ON::View Artists in Residence.

Expectations for the Incubator Artist:

  • Community Involvement: Participation in monthly First Friday Open Studio events and a commitment of 10 volunteer hours per month with ARTS Southeast.

  • Collaboration: Working as a liaison with visiting ON::View Resident artists to foster a vibrant arts community.

  • Studio Time: Willingness to be in the studio, putting in the time, and doing the work.

All applications are juried by our Selection Committee, made up of local artists, arts professionals, educators, and ARTS Southeast Staff.
